Most reading programs ask you to trust a polished claim. We would rather show you the real numbers, including the weeks that are not perfect. This page is our promise to measure honestly and publish what we find.
How we measure
A quick one-minute read about once a week, charted over time. It is the same kind of one-minute read reading specialists use, built into the app, and it charts each child's growth against their own past scores. That weekly read uses a passage at your child’s own level, so it is never compared with national norms. From the end of Level 8, a grade-level check-up on brand-new stories adds a national comparison to your report, so you have the context a teacher would, but your child never sees it; they see only their own progress.
- Accuracy. How many words a child reads true. Accuracy comes first, so speed never hides guessing.
- Words correct in one minute. Charted against the child’s own earlier reads, measured the way specialists measure it. We report it; we do not chase speed.
- Dosage. How many nights a family actually reads, one of the things we report next to every result.
- Retention. Whether families keep coming back, week after week.
- The human measure. Would your child ask to keep using it? A reading program that children want is the whole point.

Our promise
As families use A New Page, we will publish a regular Field Notes report: starting levels, how much families read, the growth we see, how many families stay, and what parents tell us changed. We will report it plainly, and we will not hide the parts that are still improving.
We are seeking independent researchers to study the program, so the results are measured by someone other than us.
