Terms of Service
A New Page, an at-home structured-literacy reading program.
Effective October 17, 2026. October 2026: added the free week, the 12-month plan and the one-student license for state funds.
Welcome to A New Page. These terms are the agreement between you (a parent or guardian) and A New Page. By creating an account or using the program, you agree to them. We've kept them short and readable.
1. Who can use A New Page
A New Page is for parents and guardians to use with their children. You must be at least 18 and either the child’s parent or legal guardian, or a teacher, tutor or therapist using A New Page with the parent’s permission. You're responsible for your account and for supervising your child's use.
2. Your subscription & billing
- Your free week ends on its own. Nothing is charged unless you choose a plan.
- A New Page is sold as a monthly subscription, or as a one-year Reading Curriculum Term License, a single payment that does not renew. The current price for each is shown at checkout. If you join at the founding family price, it stays your price for as long as your subscription stays active (or, on the year plan, when you start your next year). A family plan covers every child in your household. A one-student license, bought with state education funds, covers one child, the one reader on that account (a second license adds a second child).
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Your monthly subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel; a term license is a single payment and does not renew.
- You can cancel anytime yourself at anewpagereading.com/cancel (or email us), and you'll keep access through the end of the period you've paid for. No phone call, no lock-in.
- If a payment fails, we may pause access until it's resolved.
3. What we provide
We provide a structured-literacy reading program built on established, evidence-based methods (explicit, systematic phonics and related practices). We work hard to help your child grow as a reader. However, every child is different, and we cannot guarantee a specific result, score, or timeline. A New Page is an educational tool and is not a medical or clinical diagnosis or treatment for dyslexia or any condition.
4. Acceptable use
Please use A New Page for your own family's learning. A teacher, tutor or therapist may also use a reader a family has shared with them, to work with that family's child; the family's access covers it, for as long as the family has access. Using it with many students who are not in a family with their own access? Write to us at jnclark@anewpagereading.com first; our school and program terms say what that agreement covers. Don't copy, resell, or redistribute the lessons, stories, or content; don't try to break, scrape, or misuse the service; and don't use it to harm anyone.
5. Your content
Stories your child creates in the program belong to your family. You're responsible for what you create. We may use anonymous, aggregated information about how the program is used to improve it (never your child's personal information or anything that identifies your family).
6. Our content
The lessons, stories, characters, artwork, audio, and software are owned by A New Page and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to use them while your plan is active: a monthly subscription, or a fixed term you paid for in full.
7. Privacy
Your family's privacy matters to us. Please read our Privacy Policy, which explains the limited information we collect and how we protect it, including our children's-privacy (COPPA) commitments.
8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability
A New Page is provided "as is." To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or incidental damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the most recent 12 months. Some places don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this may not apply to you.
9. Changes
We may update these terms or the program. If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know. Continued use means you accept the changes.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved informally will be handled in the local or federal courts located in the District of Columbia.
