A New Page is Structured Literacy: the explicit, systematic approach the International Dyslexia Association recommends, in the Orton-Gillingham tradition, for struggling and dyslexic readers.
Our scope and sequence follows the order of skills in UFLI Foundations, the University of Florida Literacy Institute’s reading curriculum used in thousands of classrooms, with a few vowel sounds introduced early.

What ages is it for?

Why now, in the UK?
In England every child sits the phonics screening check at the end of Year 1, and schools teach systematic synthetic phonics from a government-approved programme. That is the right science, and A New Page is built on the same explicit, systematic phonics, with mastery checks and spaced review, so what happens at home matches what happens in the classroom. Where support thins out is the evenings, especially while a family waits on a SEND assessment. The question parents carry home is the one we built this to answer: what do we do at home tonight?
Is there funding in the UK?
There is no parent-directed public funding in the UK for a home reading programme. If your child has an EHCP with a personal budget, it is worth asking your local authority whether a reading resource can be covered, but do not count on it. So we keep it simple: a free week first, £22 a month for the whole family, and free access for any family where cost is the wall. Just ask. The check runs on your device. We ask for your email at the end to show you the result and send it, and we keep that email with the reading level it found. Never your child's name or age.
Is it made for families in the UK?

Can a teacher or therapist see what we do at home?
Yes. In the app, open your child's reader and choose Share a reader. It gives you a code for that one child. The other grown-up opens anewpagereading.com/r, types the code and signs in with their own email. From then on you both see the same step, the same story and the same report, and either of you can stop sharing at any time.
